Responsible for development and maintenance (third line support) of core products.  Write & maintain code and performs testing and debugging of applications using IBMi ILE, CLLE & SQL and technologies having sufficient business knowledge. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interface with users or their representatives to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications.

Essential Duties:

• Works on projects of diverse to complex scope where analysis of data requires an in depth evaluation of various factors.
• Exercises judgment within generally defined procedures, practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Codes, tests, and documents system modifications according to System21 standards
• Review modifications with development to ensure successful completion.
• Involved in onsite support during appropriate phases of a project
• Ensures that unit-testing scripts are written.
• Prepares test data for unit and integration testing.
• Completes all appropriate unit and integration tests (according to the appropriate test scripts) prior to handoff to the functional and QA team for system testing
• Ensures rework is completed efficiently and tests are rerun.
• May resolve customer application questions or problems in the areas of system configuration/set-up, product functionality and bugs/enhancements.
• Assists in development of new employees through on the job mentoring and coaching.
• Actively shares knowledge and skills with other members of the technical staff.
• Deliver the software according to requirements and planning. The software being the program code including technical and functional design.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree in an applicable technical area (logistics, business or computer science) or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years work experience
• Experience in MQ would be desirable.

• Excellent analytical and design skills at multiple product levels.
• Excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
• Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced PC skills.
• Good command of Microsoft Office products with focus on Word, Project, Excel and PowerPoint applications.
