Description & Requirements

We are looking for a SQL Server Database DevOps Engineer to help manage a large enterprise fleet in the cloud. The successful candidate will have deep database knowledge, a DevOps background, very strong problem-solving skills, and project management skills. Experience with other database management systems such as DB2 or Oracle is useful but not required. Cloud Experience is strongly preferred but not required.

What you will need? (Required Skills):
· Understanding of SQL Server and Microsoft Windows. This includes backups, recovery, and tuning.
· T-SQL skills.
· Problem-solving skills.
· Ability to learn new technology quickly.
· Comfortable working in a team environment.
· Ability to follow instructions.
· Project management skills.

What Will Put You Ahead? (Preferred Qualification):
· Programming/Scripting skills with PowerShell, Python, Bash, Perl, or other scripting languages.
· Experience with Amazon Web Services or Azure or other cloud platforms
· Experience with Storage systems
· Experience with Networks

A Day in A Life Typically Includes:
· PowerShell and T-SQL programming and Execution
· SQL Server Database Administration and Performance-Tuning
· Participation in DevOps related processes
· Windows O.S. management and Tuning
· Backup and Recovery tasks
· Capacity planning
· Any hands-on/experience with AWS services is an added advantage.
. Any hands-on/experience with Azure services is an added advantage.
