The Information Specialist for Infor Birst will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining comprehensive documentation for our data platform product. This individual will possess a strong aptitude for translating complex technical concepts into user-friendly formats, including Release Documentation, Help Documentation, and Internal Wikis. By collaborating closely with data engineers, product managers, and other development teams, the Information Specialist will ensure that all documentation is accurate, clear, and accessible, ultimately enhancing the user experience and understanding of the Infor Birst platform. The ideal candidate will have a background in technical communication or a related field, along with proven experience in a data, analytics, or software-centric environment.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
- Develop and maintain high-quality user manuals, API documentation, and online help resources for our data platform.
- Work closely with engineers and product teams to gather technical specifications and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Work with internal technology adopters along with other development teams on implementation and integration documentation.
- Create clear diagrams, data flow charts, and visual aids to illustrate complex data processes.
- Edit and proofread documentation for clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guides.
- Leverage GenAI and LLMs to aid in testing and validation of written documentation.
- Stay up to date on current software development trends and practices.
- Ability to learn quickly and execute accordingly.
- Bring interpersonal and technical skills to engagements
- Work closely with the Product, Development, QA and External Stakeholders
- Willingness to work across time zones to interact with different stakeholders located across US west coast, Europe, and India and ready to work in shifts.
- Willingness to work from office 5 days a week.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a technical writer, preferably within a data analytics or software-centric environment.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Familiarity with documentation tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Markdown, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to comprehend complex concepts.
- A high degree of self-motivation and flexibility with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- The ability to interact creatively and achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic company environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
What Will Put You Ahead?
- Hands on experience with documentation in the data analytics or DB/DW space
- Experience with one or more of: Database Fundamentals, Reporting Concepts, Statistics and Data Analysis and Discovery
- Experience with Scrum and Kanban methodologies
