Position Summary

Your role is to ensure that customers of our product can utilise the Pathway product in such a way as to support, enhance and underpin their own business activities. 

Your function within the team crosses what are traditionally seen as separate Information Technology specialties. As a team member, you will be required to provide advanced Tier 3 Application Support to all our customers, specialising in many different modules of the Pathway product. Your role will also see you take on System Testing activities for modules you support within the Pathway product. You may also be called upon to undertake Business Analysis of Software or integration requirements, where you will be required to prepare, contribute towards and champion functional specifications aimed at enhancing the current product offering. As well as any other activities aimed at helping our customers to implement, utilize and support the functional richness of the product, or to develop and shape the future direction of the product.

In general, your role is to ensure that the Pathway product remains a competitive and sector leading product of choice for our existing and potential customers. In short, your role is to support and promote the use of Pathway amongst our customer base in whatever capacity is required from time to time.

  • Technical Expertise: You will have substantial experience in supporting enterprise wide applications. Skills in T-SQL scripting and an understanding of relational databases are a substantial advantage. Experience with an online multi-user help desk system and tools that facilitate remote access with customers such as Webex meetings and Skype for Business would be an advantage.
  • Practices Strategic Thinking: You are highly skilled in problem resolution, experienced in critically analysing issues and applying sound problem resolution techniques to application issues. Your ability to make appropriate and timely recommendations to complex problems stands you out from the crowd. You are a lateral thinker capable at adapting an enterprise application to overcome specific problems or offer viable solutions to seemingly unachievable goals.

Your work may entail communicating with a range of customers from IT professionals to product end-users with varying skills and knowledge of our products. You will communicate with our customers via online incident updates, telephone, web conferencing and on occasions in person

Your Responsibilities Include

  • Assist delivering a quality product to the Customer base
  • Undertake as well as define System Testing procedures and documentation as part of the software development cycle
  • Investigate software defects, documentation or procedural issues reported by customers and investigate, document, and recommend solutions in accordance with procedures
  • Provide primary level of contact for investigation into support and development issues that are raised in regards to the Modules your team is responsible for. Provide effective communication of the resolution of these back to the Team Manager and nominated contacts
  • Check Release Notes for Software releases, Service packs and fixes are meaningful and easily understood prior to the work item passing to the Customer in accordance with the standard development procedures
  • Assist with Develop Functional Specifications, System Test Plans, Regression Test Plans and Load Testing Plans as requested
  • Review and provide feedback on Functional Specifications, Unit Test Plans, System Test Plans and Release Notes as requested
  • Ability to Mentor and provide guidance to other System Testers if requested
  • Identify, recommend or address procedural improvements
  • Maintain a professional attitude, approach and appearance at all times
  • Adhere to all internal policies and procedures
  • Assist with other duties as requested from time to time by the Development Team Manager

Knowledge and Skills, You Bring to the Organization

  • A System Testing/Quality Assurance role, preferably with exposure to provision of Local Government Software
  • The Local Government industry and/or Local Government software solutions provider
  • Proficient in Agile Methodology and Testing methodologies
  • Microsoft Office products
