Sr. Manager, Learning Product Development will lead a team of learning designers and drive the development of learning offerings that correspond to roadmap expectations of product releases and updates inside the larger learning product development team. This leader will manage a team focused on the creation of educational offerings that span various modalities – self-paced, micro-learning, blended learning, VILT, as examples. You should expect to hit the ground running using a data first approach to manage a team that designs high-quality, learning experiences for our audiences that consist of customers, partners, and internal employees. This role should combine your passions of instructional design, project management, content creation, and distilling complex ideas into easily digestible concepts. You rely on your experience of managing a team to motivate, and drive a culture of innovation, and execution.
The Sr. Manager, Learning Product Development works closely with other leaders within the Learning Product Development team and reports to the Sr. Director, Learning Product Development. This role will collaborate with other stakeholders, including Learning Portfolio Management, Go-to-Market, Certification and Credentialing, Product Engineering, Product Development.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
• Develop and execute upon learning roadmaps for Infor focused products and industries, in collaboration with the Education Programs and Portfolio teams.
• Lead with industry best practices and governance to manage a team of learning designers
• Establishes team goals and objectives in working through the backlog of Jira tickets for learning development and assigns to team members accordingly.
• Actively listens to feedback captured on learning offerings from all audience and determines appropriate actions as necessary.
• Understand the technical & professional skills training needs of Infor customers, partners, and employees including needs specific to various roles and geographies, that are aligned and supportive of Infor business and product vision.
• Support a transformational culture with modern learning offering development and building that expertise within their team – leading by example.
• Ensure that the learning content developed meets high standards of quality, timeliness, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Interface with management to communicate status on initiatives.
Required skills:
• Experience in a similar role where you have directly led a curriculum development team within a SaaS organization, being responsible for building offerings with a just-in-time approach
• Documented success in managing the design, development, and execution of curriculum projects in a fast-paced, high-volume organization to meet product release cycles
• Passionate people leader with established experience hiring, growing, and leading teams
• Used Jira in support of an Agile development methodology with Kanban boards for efficiency, planning, resource allocation
• Drive cohesion and understanding of priorities of the team and output expected
• Advanced knowledge of modern course development tools and systems (Rise, Storyline as examples) to support development spanning a range of offerings from social platform-based learning to self-paced, self-directed, and hands-on
• Excellent communication, collaboration, project management, organizational and thought leadership skills
• Strong sense of ownership and autonomy
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, adapting to change, and working cross-functionally
• Passion for learning and the overall mission of the company
• B.A. or B.S. degree in learning, computer science, or commensurate degree
Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven track record of leading curriculum teams with responsibility for large course offering catalogs across numerous product lines
• Innovation-based mindset that can breakdown large, complex topics into bite-size, engaging, and informative learning offerings
• Knowledge of AI learning tools, audio mixing/editing tools, video and graphics development
• Strong leadership experience where you’ve grown, mentored and retained talent on your team
• Ability to lead through change and transformation
• Grown through your career from Instructional Design to people management
• Active member of CEdMA and/or TSIA
