Title: BACKUP SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR, ASSOCIATE

Location: BGC Taguig City, Philippines

  

  

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

  

The System Administrator, Associate is primarily responsible for the timely resolution of server operating system issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows server operating system environments. 

  

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT role
  • Performance and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to verbally present complex concepts and technical information to a non-technical audience in a clear and concise manner.
  • Functional knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Experience in Veritas 8.x config and deployment while adhering to best practice.
  • Experience with Veritas CloudPoint
  • Experience with Veritas Cloud Catalyst
  • Experience with virtualization technologies; VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Experience with SAN technologies,

Preferred Qualifications:

 

The Backup Administrator must have experience doing the following tasks:


  • Provides second level end user support for break fix issues and requests generated through a ticketing system.
  • Install and configure server hardware and operating systems.
  • Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve basic hardware and operating system issues.
  • Work with external vendors to resolve equipment and application problems.
  • Participate in projects and internal improvement initiatives as assigned.
  • Assisting in backup maintenance and administration.
  • Maintain Veritas appliance operational status.
  • Troubleshoot backup job failures.
  • Keep firmware, operating systems and applications updated as required.
  • Maintain server ownership and application records in an asset database.
  • Develop technical skills inside and outside of assigned core technologies using own initiative.
  • Work to promote positive teamwork and build relationships among team members and across departmental teams.
