Description & Requirements
Responsiblities :
- DB2 System Administrator for overall integrity of DB2 structures including subsystem libraries, DB2 catalog/directory, DB2 zParms, development and support databases/tablespaces
- Work closely with all levels of IT to deploy and support z/OS DB2 infrastructure
- Self-directed with ability to work within a worldwide team
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to users
- Enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards
- Perform tests and evaluations to ensure data security, privacy and integrity
- Monitor database performance and implement changes when required
- Apply new patches and upgrade DB2 system software/versions when required
- Install and maintain CA/Broadcom database tools
Requirements and skills
- 10 years of proven working experience as a System/Database Administrator working with IBM DB2 z/OS
- Upgrade and configure new IBM and CA Broadcom releases and continuous delivery capabilities
- Experience working as a z/OS DB2 Database Administrator working with DDL, DCL and SQL
- Experience with DB2 Utilities and Commands
- Experience and knowledge with IBM ShopzSeries and Support
- Experience with CA/Broadcom Support portal
- Review HOLDDATA and apply SMP/e PTF/APAR maintenance when necessary
- Excellent knowledge of data backup and recovery
- Knowledge of DB2 plan, package and collection structures
- Understanding and experience with RACF and DB2 security schemes
- Familiarity with database management best practices
- General systems z/OS knowledge including TSO, ISPF and CICS
Desired
- Familiarity with CA Endevor Source Control Management software
- Experience with CA/Broadcom Datacom/DB
- Previous experience with IBM DBA tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools:
CA Insight Database Performance Monitor
CA SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2-MVS
IBM File Manager/DB2
IBM DB2 Administration Tools
