Description & Requirements

A DevOps engineer is responsible for bridging the gap between development and operations teams, facilitating CICD, and automation of software processes. Their main focus is on streamlining software development, testing, and deployment by building and maintaining infrastructure that supports rapid and reliable software releases.

What You Will Need?
Basic Requirements:

Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on (CICD Tooling)
Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and best practices.
Proficiency with infrastructure as code (IaC) tooling 
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, ECR, Lambda, VPC).
Solid scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python and the like).
REST API automation/scripting
Knowledge of networking, security, and system administration.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

What Will Put You Ahead?
Nice to Have:

Experience in GitLab (certification is a plus)
Experience in IaC tooling such as Terraform or CloudFormation
AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or similar certification.
Experience in Artifactory, Nexus or similar artifact repository
Security scanning tools such as Veracode/Sonarqube
Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Knowledge of agile methodologies, such as SCRUM and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

A Day In A Life Typically Includes:

Implement automation for cloud-based applications and services
Use metrics and monitoring to identify negative trends before they become problems
Participate in agile standups and perform code review
Maintain comprehensive documentation for new and existing systems and procedures
Handle user support tickets and questions, escalating to service developers as needed
Troubleshoot and triage incidents
Optimize performance and scalability as necessary to meet the business goals of application and environment
Take on other projects and responsibilities as necessary
Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot build and deployment processes to ensure reliability and performance.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate code changes and manage application releases.
Implement and manage containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on AWS services.
Ensure security best practices are followed in the CI/CD pipeline and infrastructure.
Develop and maintain scripts and tools to improve deployment efficiency and reliability.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on DevOps best practices.
