As a solution architect, you will define and maintain the following components for every project/product you are involved with:

The system structure defines the architecture style of the solution. Service-oriented architecture is one example of structure that might be used. Deciding which architectural structure to use will depend on the end solution, integration requirement, current system constraints…

Architecture characteristics

We usually refer to the architecture characteristics as nonfunctional requirements. More generically, these characteristics define the success criteria of a system: Reliability, availability, security, scalability, performance, upgradability...

Architecture decisions

Architecture decisions define the rules of how a system should be constructed. These rules define the system skeleton and constraints.  For example: The application database should only contain the current month’s data. Historical data should always be stored in the Datalake. Another decision example: All data integrity checks should be implemented and executed on the pre- and post-transformation data...  These decisions should be enforced and cannot be relaxed without the approval of the solution architect.

Design principles

Design principles differs from architecture decisions in that a design principle is a guideline rather than a hard constraint. Example: Use a normalized data schema when possible. If this will mean a more complicated data model, using a denormalized schema is ok.

  • Establish the ML/AI Infor brand through online publications, trainings, and talks.
  • Identify strategic third-party partners and assess the potential add value of a partnership.

  • Ensure compliance with decisions during all project life cycle (even post go-live)
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the business domain that we are addressing.
