Description & Requirements
The Project Manager Sr provides project leadership to project team(s) on medium to large projects in areas such as Release Certification, research, process development, often involving several organizational units. Also leads smaller projects of high complexity and/or visibility, or similar. Keeps management and stakeholders informed of schedules, priorities, and problems. Does not typically have management responsibilities such as hiring, firing, performance appraisals, and pay reviews; however, may assist with such decisions and activities.
As additional expectation, the Project Manager Sr is responsible for assisting in analyzing Product Management and corporate business requirements, managing development of detail reporting specifications, and utilizing business intelligence tooling to enable data generation for analysis and reporting (Report Analysis). This individual is responsible for maintenance and delivery of critical company data to various groups throughout the company, on both periodic timeframes, and ad hoc needs basis. The PMs business area data reporting scope requirements encompass product management activities and process, across the multi-variant community interfaces within Infor’s software product lifecycle. The desired position objective is to determine opportunities for ongoing operational productivity, product quality and operational effectiveness, and to provide factual momentum to support the direction of increasing financial return on investment while executing upon corporate strategic direction.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
• Leads project team to ensure projects are completed on time and according to requirements.
• Prioritizes projects and tasks to ensure smooth execution of projects.
• Resolves conflicting priorities with minimal direction from upper management.
• Facilitates communication upward and across project team including project status, risks, justifications Serves as focal point for other departments on project status or other project information.
• Develops, maintains and communicates Project Plans and executes projects according to the developed plans.
• Continuously monitors progress and risks and promptly acts to resolve issues, escalating if needed.
• Assign project team and/or ensure that the project team assigned has skills and qualifications needed.
• Chooses and applies the appropriate project- and development methodology based on the characteristics of the project.
• Mentors less experienced project managers.
• Creates and generates standardized reports and metrics that are utilized within the Product Management’s operation of Infor in tracking compliance of strategic objectives, and corporate goals.
• Works with Product Management to understand business needs and utilizes data mining techniques and queries to develop, implement and maintain statistical models that quantify the status of various facts of Product Management’s business function.
• Administration of reporting tooling, data and documentation within the construct of Infor’s Product Management organization.
• Prepares documentation and presentation materials and delivers training to product managers and supported stakeholder communities when requested to present PM business intelligence data, reports and metrics.
• Assists with PM data and metric analysis by comparing historical to actual trends and results and incorporates those findings into written commentary for Management.
• Supports other Report Analyst(s) on projects and reporting responsibilities.
• Develops and presents proposals based on analysis with recommended action.
• Assists in the preparation of month end, quarterly, and year end reports, metrics, schedules, and presentations
• Designs, documents and automates reporting models for measurement of PM business area/company performance.
• Interacts with all Infor departments to identify and implement changes based upon analysis of current systems, policies, procedures and processes.
• Applies business intelligence and quantitative analysis training and experience in the context of incumbent’s knowledge of the business unit to make significant contributions to business decisions of the Product Management’s business area.
• Monitors industry best practices in the fields of software operations, finance, business intelligence, statistical analysis, and reporting and makes recommendations to management on ways to continuously improvement and automation to Product Management’s existing business reporting practices and process.
• Provides ad hoc analysis and special project work.
What You Will Need:
• Bachelor’s degree (4 year) in computer science, mathematics, statistics, quantitative analysis for business, or equivalent.
• Requires min of 5 years software project management as well as technical experience in software development.
• Ability to prioritize projects and activities to ensure completion of projects on time and within budget.
• Need to have successful track record of delivering high quality projects on time.
• Excellent management skills with in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, software development processes and their interdependence.
• Excellent organizational, decision making and communications skills.
• Excellent skills in presentation-, spreadsheet-, collaboration and similar.
• Good knowledge of Project Management tools.
• Excellent English skills, verbal and written.
• Helps to mentor less experienced employees in addition to fostering teamwork.
• Solid understand of contemporary BI, business intelligence, requirements analysis, specification, verification and management practices and the ability to apply these concepts in practice.
• Minimum of 2 years work experience with business operations analysis and reporting on product, quality, financial or statistical in nature, at a medium to large size corporation.
What Will Put You Ahead?
• Strong knowledge of database repository structures and data processing flowcharting techniques, report design, and query scripting knowledge, combined with overall business and financial acumen.
• Technically proficient with BI tooling and software, with minimum of 2 years experience using any of the business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel Analytics Ninja
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with business operations analysis and reporting on product, quality, financial or statistical in nature, at a medium to large size corporation.
• Technical skills in any of the following Python, MS SQL and .net (.net is preferred)
• Significant proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Power Point.
• Good public speaking and interpersonal skills.
• Will be required to learn Infor Software Business Reporting Applications, including Scorecard/KPIs and Infor Administrative Applications.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
