Description & Requirements

The Resource Manager is responsible for effectively staffing resource requests based on client-specific needs, resource skill set/goals, resource availability, resource level (i.e. manager, senior, or associate consultant), and geographical location.  The Resource Manager will work to ensure resources are staffed on time and in alignment with the goals of the resource and resource request.  

In addition, the Resource Manager is responsible for the daily management of Resource Management processes. This includes maintaining the staffing process, maintaining the resource scheduling/tracking system (Polaris), coordinating internal assignments/training for consultants in between assignments, and preparing RM reports. 

This role provides support to the Senior Resource Managers, and Managers/ Directors of Resource Management and will have no supervisory responsibilities.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

  •             Serve as the “go-to” resource for new hires/resources regarding questions and/or guidance..  
  •             Serve as Resource Manager for billable and non-billable staffing requests within assigned product areas or business units.
  •    Assist with the preparation and maintenance of Resource Management Reports driven from the Resource Management System (Polaris).
  •             Assist with the onboarding and integration of new hires to their teams/product areas/industries.
  •             Collaborating with business unit/practice managers to qualify resource options for open resource requests. 
  •             Work to fill any open positions on projects in order to maximize utilization and revenue.

Basic Qualifications:

  •             Prior experience preferably in a consulting or professional services firm with experience ideally in resource management and/or recruiting.
  •             Experience using specialized scheduling tools and other Microsoft applications such as Excel, Access, and Project.  
  •             Interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team and execute across multiple assignments/people and tasks. 
  •            Understanding of various industries needed to successfully assist in the assessment and preparation of resources for projects in those industries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •             Experience in a consulting or professional services firm with experience ideally in resource management and/or recruiting. 
  •             Organizational skills and attention to detail.  Flexibility and adaptability are also skills critical for success.
