Description & Requirements

·       10 years of proven working experience as a System/Database Administrator working with IBM DB2 z/OS

·       JCL, REXX, CLIST.

·       BMC tools, IBM DB2 tools, CA DB2 tools

·       Upgrade and configure new IBM and Broadcom (CA) releases and continuous delivery capabilities.

·       Experience working as a z/OS DB2 Database Administrator working with DDL, DCL and SQL

·       Experience with DB2 Utilities and Commands

·       Experience and knowledge with IBM ShopzSeries and Support

·       Experience with Broadcom (CA) Support portal

·       Review HOLDDATA and apply SMP/e PTF/APAR maintenance when necessary

·       Excellent knowledge of data backup and recovery

·       Knowledge of DB2 plan, package and collection structures

·       Understanding and experience with RACF and DB2 security schemes

·       Familiarity with database management best practices

Desired Skills

·       • Familiarity with Broadcom (CA) Datacom/DB

·       • Previous experience with IBM DBA tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools:

·       • Broadcom (CA) Insight Database Performance Monitor

·       • Broadcom (CA) SYSVIEW Performance Management Option for DB2-MVS

·       • IBM File Manager/DB2

·       • IBM DB2 Administration Tools



Role and Responsibilities:

Analyze, plan, coordinate and implement DB2 version upgrade and RSU maintenance. Performed DB2 v10, v11, v12 and V13 install, upgrade and maintenance.

·       Support Disaster Recovery testing.

·       Incident and change handling related to DB2 issues.

·       z/OS, CPU, Migration activities support related to DB2.

·       Log analysis and management.

·       Health check on the security aspect of DB2

·       Maintain zPARMS. 

·       DB2 Region Setup be DB2 database setup in conjunction with CICS Regions.

·       Self-directed with the ability to work within a worldwide team. 

·       Monitor database performance and implement changes when required.

·       Install and maintain Broadcom database tools.
