Description & Requirements

                         Development Operations Engineer:

Job Responsibilities:
• The Cloud Automation and Development Ops Engineer has the responsibility to build, deploy, operate, scale and maintain cloud based SaaS solutions. Work in a diverse and global team environment. Cross-train with other global team members. Seek opportunities to streamline standard operating procedures through automation
• Design and architect new AWS region, implement, and deploy cloud infrastructure services for AWS. (VPCs, NAT, ELBs)
• Write end-to-end automation to deploy and maintain the infrastructure in AWS. Good understanding and Practices on CI/CD DevOps tools Jenkins or Gitlab
• Proficiency in major scripting languages (Power shell & Python).
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities and requirements. Excellent communication and prioritization skills.

Education and experience:

• A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 3-5 years of professional work experience in a related field
• Experience with Amazon Web Services
• Experience automating Linux or Windows applications
• Extensive experience writing Linux shell or Python scripts or Windows PowerShell scripts.

Required Skills:
An ideal candidate would have 3-5 very strong areas and would have strengths in all the rest. However, the ability to learn an area or technology quickly is more important than a well-established but stale skill set.


Cloud
• Experience designing and consuming cloud services, ideally based on Amazon Web Services
• Ability to think in a "cloud-native” manner

Development
• Ability to write automation code in a common scripting language, such as PowerShell or Python, including experience in AWS SDKs
• Formal development experience is a huge plus
• Working knowledge of Git, Bitbucket/Stash, Jenkins
• Experience with Agile development methods

Networking
• Understanding of fundamental concepts like network security, routing, and load balancing
• Good grasp of standard protocols like TCP/IP, SSH, RDP, etc.
Operations
• Understanding of operational concepts like change management, on call rotations, escalations, uptime, etc.
• Experience in managing production systems on a very large scale
• Experience with log management and monitoring tools such as Sumo Logic, Splunk, Logic Monitor, Zenoss etc.
OS
• Deep understanding of one of the major OS families (Linux or Windows)
• Experience with writing configuration management recipes (SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, or similar)
• Knowledge of container technologies, Docker, ECS etc.

Architecture & Design
• Ability to formalize a design for a variety of audiences
• Willingness to work in a team to design the best possible system without letting ego get in the way

Security
• Conscious of security concerns
• Work with Information Security teams, stay current and deploy security benchmarks such as CIS, NIST.
• Healthy fear of implementing an insecure solution

Interaction & Communication
• Skilled at writing technical design documents and policies
• Good social interaction with the immediate team as well as other teams
• Motivated with strong sense of exploration to learn and adapt new cloud technologies with focus on improved project/service delivery
• Ability to work in an extremely geographically distributed company
• Good communication skills across multiple mediums
