Solution Architect – Equipment and Rental sector

Position Summary

We are currently looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join us at Infor in the UK. The primary responsibility of the Solutions Architect is to ensure customer success and value using our product suite. As a trusted customer advocate, the Solutions Architect will help our clients understand best practices around our cloud-based solutions and how to migrate their existing business processes to our solutions. Solution Architects must possess excellent technical and business consultative skills in order to create client intimacy and to act as a trusted advisor. This position requires excellent project management, organizational and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with customers, leading teams, and driving business process and technical work streams. The successful candidate is expected to have at least 10 years industrial experience in Equipment rental, maintenance and service area.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and lead business and technical design workshops around diverse customers’ complex global processes to create highly scalable, sustainable solutions following Infor best practices
  • Understand and connect customers’ existing business processes and technology to craft the “to be” Infor solution and develop a transition plan to create measurable business value
  • Be a leader on a team of technical and business analysts and engineers, foster a productive team environment, leverage diverse views to encourage innovation, and mentor team members to ensure their success and growth
  • Capture and share best practice knowledge
  • Ensure customers’ business requirements are fully understood, documented, communicated and acted upon


Key Requirements/Experience

  • Experience working in ERP Solution Architect role
  • Experience in the Equipment and Rental sector
  • Previous experience implementing software using a software development lifecycle (SDLC) implementation model
  • Strong familiarity with EDI and XML message formats
  • Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle and/or other ERP systems a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical or business field, Master’s degree a plus
  • Possess a strong natural sense of curiosity, be self-motivated, self-disciplined and passionate about international business and commerce
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products and technical challenges
  • Ability to effectively build relationships, promote a collaborative and team environment and influence others
  • Possess executive speaking and presentation skills – white board, small and large group presentations
