Description & Requirements

The Service Reliability Architect, SRA, is a key role in Infor’s Cloud-First strategy and is part of the Infor Development organization. The SRA is the custodian of Infor’s standards, guidelines, and best practices and responsible for the awareness of product teams of these topics. The SRA is responsible for the architectural end-to-end aspects of the delivery of Infor CloudSuites, covering both Dev and Ops. The SRA works as a trusted advisor to product development teams and Cloud Operations to ensure adherence to Infor’s cloud reference architecture, cloud operations, Infor consulting services and support teams. The SRA takes a holistic approach across all Infor’s products and identifies common solution designs and best-practices, which the SRA then actively promotes within the Infor product development teams. The SRA team ‘owns’ Infor’s contract with Sumo Logic and therefore manages our Sumo Logic development and production account. The success of SRA is measured in terms of questions asked. A successful SRA is a credible SRA, gaining credibility by speaking from practical experience. The SRA acts as a coach to Infor’s product teams in the area of applying architecture.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

·       Research modern application architectures concepts and their applicability across Infor’s IT landscape. This includes the development of Proof of Concepts, reference solutions, and tutorials for easy adoption. The SRA therefore works closely with but is not part of product teams. ‘The SRA is to Product Teams as Gandalf is to the Fellowship of the Ring’

·       Establish and participate in cross-team and cross-functional initiatives focused on technology areas like security, performance, and site reliability. Guide the individual product teams in the adoption of Infor’s product development and delivery tools as well as our cloud architecture and infrastructure solutions.

·       Take a leading role in the creation of a governance and architecture practice that can evolve and ensure company obligations are fulfilled for years to come.

·       Actively work with product development teams to identify, define, and promote best-practices across all of Infor.

·       Review important architecture issues that management is concerned about. Pro-actively inform management on future developments relevant to Infor’s SaaS offerings.

·       Provide guidance and support on topics of technology, cloud adoption, architecture maturity and DevOps culture to any team seeking feedback on their approach.

·       Represent Infor at technical conferences by delivering presentations relevant to the role of SRA and Infor’s Cloud adoption

·       Oversee the architecture, design, and implementation principles of Infor products.

·       Participate in internal cloud projects as trusted advisor, supporting teams in delivery of solutions that fit the Infor eco-system.

·       Manage Infor Sumo Logic accounts, design automation and closely work with development to deliver automated processes. The SRA is not responsible for operational support of Sumo Logic, but can be involved by Infor’s product teams as well as Sumo Logic as an intermediary to monitor progress of solving operational issues.

Required skills:

·       Strong communication skills with a demonstrated track record at presenting to heterogeneous audiences and the ability to explain architecture, culture and process topics native to cloud. Experience as blogger and/or technical writer is a plus.

·       Experience with Cloud Native application development and well-versed on the topics of Microservice Architecture, API-First, and CICD.

·       Open mindset and eager to learn. The most important muscle of the SRA is the brain, and the ideal candidate seeks to train this muscle continuously

·       The SRA does not join teams fishing, but teaches how to fish and more importantly explains when to fish and when to farm. Leads by example, and understands that this requires to continuously go the extra mile instead of taking short cuts.

·       Proven cloud experience in development, operations, architecture, or technical lead capacity. It is required that an SRA guides teams from the basis of personal experience.

·       Solid skills in production deployment experience in the cloud (AWS or Azure)

·       Demonstrated expertise with formulating technology roadmaps and act as a trusted advisor.
