Position Summary

 

Infor is transforming Solution Consulting and looking for a Business Intelligence/Data Analytics Solutions Consultant to develop and present compelling industry-leading solutions using our Birst/Infor technology.     The successful SC possesses a strong business acumen and an ability to understand our customers’ business needs and challenges through discovery to deliver strategic, industry competitive solutions.  Also has an artistic, visual capability for building compelling demo content.  SCs work closely with the sales organization to provide compelling solutions, presentations and demos while becoming the trusted advisor of our customers.

We are seeking a Principal Solution Consultant with 8 plus years of experience to help Infor data and analytics platform, a leading cloud data and business intelligence platform, provide customers with unprecedented insight and analysis more quickly and cost-effectively than with traditional solutions.

Bring your passion about data and insights for large and varied data! An ideal candidate should possess a data analyst background and business acumen for data strategy to consolidate varied solutions. In this role, you will experience a wide range of problem-solving situations requiring extensive use of data collection and analysis. Our world class team is rapidly re-shaping the next generation of business intelligence and analytics applications as part of Infor.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

  • Understand customers’ data and analytic goals and challenges through successful discovery.
  • Develop and improve the current data architecture, data quality, monitoring and data availability.
  • Provide End-to-end data architectural roadmap for defining and refining enterprise data architecture for scalable cloud data platform (supporting structured and unstructured data), data lake, data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
  • Help continually improve ongoing reporting and analysis processes, simplifying self-service support for customers
  • Keep up to date with advances in big data technologies and ability to articulate Infor data and analytics platform data architecture value proposition to customers.
  • Experience in developing and implementing cloud data platforms to support product strategy and roadmap, advanced analytics, data science and SQL / NO-SQL datasets to give our business and our products a competitive advantage.
  • Experience in implementing data warehousing solutions using AWS platform/technology
  • Confidently present and articulate the business value of Infor data and analytics platform to all levels in the organization.
  • Demonstrate Infor data and analytics platform in a way that clearly differentiates us from the competition
  • Scope, build, and present custom demos and proof of concepts.  This includes data strategy, data acquisition, ETL, data modeling, and BI creation (reports, charts, analytics, and dashboards)
  • Be team coordinator of demo content – developing and documenting demos that range from standard to industry to integrated Infor or functional specific:
    • Includes story line with Business Value
    • Includes appropriate use of key product differentiators
    • Use modern graphical design to be visually appealing
  • Review upcoming product functionality and modify standard demonstration environment to show off new capabilities – share modifications with SC team
  • Be innovate and create new solutions with out-of-the-box thinking
  • Successfully research and document product, technical, and security responses on RFIs and RFPs
  • Work as team player by continually learning and sharing new knowledge
  • Manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be curious about how systems work and interested in finding creative solutions to tough business challenges
  • Excellent customer facing presentation and demonstration skills
  • Familiarity with BI tools like MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, OBIEE, QlikView
  • Familiarity with RDMBS’ like SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, MySQL
  • Broad understanding and ability to articulate the benefits of cloud computing
  • Knowledge of AWS data management solutions is a plus.
  • Able to travel as needed (around 50%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in comparable pre-sales position, supporting sales cycles selling BI, of doing dashboard demo development.
  • Ability to work with teams physically in the office and virtually around the world from remote location
  • Be passionate about technology.  Excited about AI, Mobile, IOT and cloud technologies.
  • An understanding or experience with SQL, Visual Basic, JavaScript, ETL (extract, transform, load) scripting
  • An understanding or experience with data modeling, logical star schema designs, data warehouse concepts.
  • Knowledge of AWS data management solutions is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of various front and back office business applications
  • Be self-motivated, flexible, and take initiative
  • Be a partner with sales in assisting with planning account strategy

  • For this role, we anticipate paying $130,000 – $200,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form. Benefits include Health and Dental Insurance, 401K, Short and Long Term Disability, PTO including sick leave, Vacation, and Parental Leave, and Tuition Reimbursement.
