Systems Engineer, Senior

Position Summary

 

As Systems Engineer for the LX Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and related technologies, you are responsible for maintaining environments, preparing product builds, developing and maintaining tools and installation testing. You will work within a multidisciplinary development team in close collaboration with other systems engineers, software engineers, architects and business analysts. You will also mentor team members and provide best in class service to internal development and support teams.

A Day in the Life Typically Includes:

·       Operations monitoring of internal support and development environments on premise and in cloud.

·       Management of activities like Application and OS User Management, Job Management requests, monitoring restarts and working on Disk Space.

·       Infor LX and IBM i Tech stack component installation.

·       Perform regular system health checks and backup restore tests.

·       Product license key management.

·       User and Product Security Management.

·       Patch application for ERP applications and extensions.

·       Preparation of documentation for installation and administration of the product and tools.

·       Continuous development of application knowledge in the product suite, technical environment, and technologies.

·       Adherence to standards and keep abreast of tools and standard operating procedure updates.

·       Documentation and maintenance of detailed procedures (work instructions).

·       Cross training and mentoring staff.

·       Willingness to take on other projects and responsibilities, as necessary.

·       Taking initiative in the investigation and implementation of new techniques and tools to improve Infor software delivery and Development infrastructure.

 Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ Years experienced IBM i (AS400) Systems Engineer with prior experience in an IT related role.
  • Prior experience working with WebSphere application console.
  • Experience troubleshooting IBM i (AS400) messages and application issues, etc.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-platform environment blending IBM i and Windows servers.
  • Analytical, accurate, and result driven.
  • Proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum 7 years related experience with a Bachelor or Master technical degree, preferably Computer Science or other technical education.

Added Advantage

  • Prior engineering experience on IBM i using any of the following technologies; RPGLE, CLLE, Java, DB2 or SQL
  • etc.
  • Project Management or leadership skills
