Description & Requirements

Responsible for supporting and maintaining global data center, server and network facilities to ensure adequate space, UPS power and cooling for critical IT equipment.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:

  • Knowledge and experience in critical power, cooling systems and other data center infrastructure.
  • Provide support for UPS power, cooling, fire detection & suppression, and related environmental systems to ensure appropriate measures are in place to protect the assets within the data center, server room and network equipment space.
  • Create and maintain procedures for efficient provisioning of UPS power, cooling, cabling and other fundamental data center, server and network room utilities.
  • Maintain monitoring systems to ensure appropriate levels of cooling, power, and related environmental systems are available.
  • Monitor adherence to relevant emergency operating procedures.
  • Adhere to security and usage policies, including maintaining approved access lists, educating and communicating policies to end users, and escalating violations to management.
  • Provide and administer console access solutions for system administrators.
  • Identifies premature failures and schedules maintenance and mitigation without incident.
  • Ensure regular preventative maintenance schedules are performed for UPS power, cooling, fire suppression / detection and life safety equipment.
  • Responsible for placement, cabling and racking of IT equipment.

What You Will Need:

  • Proficient knowledge of IT operational processes, including change management.
  • Able to work with and provide direction for third party vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven excellent customer service skills.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Working knowledge of Unix, Windows Server, database, data communication, and telephony technologies.
  • Understanding of cooling, electrical and cabling principles in a data center.
