Position Summary:
Infor is looking for an experienced Development and Support Director, passionate about leading a team working on different Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions. The candidate must have experience leading teams and working on both individual and team growth. Experience with recruiting is also required from resume screening, setting up and conduct interviews, code challenges, and participate in the hiring decisions. The position involves close interaction with customers, product management, support analysts, developers, quality assurance and technical writers dispersed across various geographies including North America, Europe and Asia.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive support & development leadership experience - managing multiple teams and geographies.
- Industry experience in enterprise software development
- Experience managing mixed teams of employees and subcontractors.
- Experience leveraging nearshore and offshore resources for staff augmentation.
- Experience leveraging multiple development partners for targeted projects, such as roadmap acceleration or product parity.
Essential Duties:
- Previous work experience leading product support and development teams
- Excellent communication skills (including English fluency)
- Developing training materials and programs to help employees learn new skills or improve existing skills.
- Accountable for development of knowledge base content (quantity and quality) for assigned product area.
- Coordinating with multiple teams and other departments within the organization to ensure that software support & development meet business needs.
- For support teams, ensuring capacity aligns with business needs and the appropriate metrics are used to monitor and report team performance.
- For development teams:
- Maintain records of all projects, including budgets, timelines, and status reports
- Develop new technology by researching industry trends and consumer needs.
- Oversee the development of new products or services to ensure they meet customer needs.
- Review project proposals from outside developers to determine whether they are feasible.
- Creating comprehensive plans that outline the goals and objectives of a project.
- Evaluating the performance of support analysts, programmers, software engineers, and other staff members to ensure that they are meeting company standards for productivity and quality.
- Overseeing the development of new software applications or enhancements to existing applications
- You will also be involved in the implementation and execution of all operational plans that impact your team.
- Participate with budget management including budget preparation, forecasting and variance reporting.
- Provide leadership role in customer situations, keeping both customer and interested parties within the company informed as to on-going status.
- Monitor overall product quality and supportability for assigned product area and provide feedback to Product Development.
- Manage special projects as assigned by Senior management, Support Operations
Preferred:
· Experience or knowledge in IBMi series products would be an added advantage.
