Description & Requirements

This position is an integral part of the Infor Consulting Services organisation. The Infor Consulting Services (ICS) organization enables our customers to rapidly recognize the value of Infor Solutions in a responsible, timely and cost-effective fashion by providing our customers consulting, implementation, development and managed services. The ICS works with clients to implement Infor software and industry standard processes with the aim of reducing costs increasing customer service and creating frameworks for enhanced collaboration and business efficiency. Whilst our technology is the enabler and vehicle for achieving business benefits, the quality and experience of our consultants are key differentiators.

The Solution Architect is responsible for proposing specific Infor WMS solutions that fit within the customer’s business environment and business objectives and can be shown to address the customer’s business problems and exploit opportunities. The Solution Architect is able to understand customer business drivers and current IT environment. The Solution Architect ensures solution feasibility and proposes a roadmap to realise the solution. The Solution Architect should have broad knowledge of the Infor solution portfolio to identify the components required to construct the most appropriate solution for the customer.

The Infor Warehouse Management System comprises best in class solution components for distribution companies including high volume retail, defense, 3rd party distribution services, and covering most industry verticals. The central focus of the role will be to perform the implementation consulting services for our clients in adopting Infor’s solutions primarily the Infor WMS.

General

  • Acts as an expert and evangelist in Infor Applications and Technology, primarily in the space of Supply chain logistics and warehousing.
  • Maintains up to date product and technical knowledge of the Infor portfolio and roadmap for an industry and/or horizontal solution set
  • Knowledge of one or more Industry sectors and is able to present solutions in an Industry context.
  • Ability to decompose large complex problems into manageable pieces allowing communication on both business and technical levels.
  • Skilled at presenting to C-level audiences focusing on demonstrating the business value of solutions rather than technical detail.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of Infor architecture engagement processes and tools
  • Knowledge of the important standards for business processes, information models and architectural models generally applied in an industry
  • Maintains awareness of IT Industry architecture frameworks and approaches
  • Maintains up to date knowledge of business drivers & typical customer needs within an industry
  • Support new sales opportunities and participate actively in sales related activities in defining sales approach, proposal, and defining implementation estimates.

Delivery

  • Acts as the primary point of ownership with responsibility for functional solution.
  • Experience in delivery of complex cross-pillar solutions utilizing Infor products
  • Challenges requirements to take advantage from the value-added provided by Infor solutions
  • Manages changes to the solution architecture due to change requests
  • Ensures that the different solution pieces built by different teams are consistent
  • Actively ensures that design/development standards are upheld.
  • Provides ongoing solution governance and manages the solution through design and delivery to ensure its final integrity.
  • Participates in and contributes to the development of the Solution Architecture Professional Community
  • Harvests and promotes architecture best practices


SCE Delivery

  • Defining and designing the application configuration for the Infor WM software solutions in accordance with the objectives agreed.
  • Perform the implementation at client site including: training, process development, workshops, testing, deployment/go-live support and documentation
  • Liaising with Technical Consultants and Project Managers to define the total solution and component application requirements
  • Facilitating the definition and design of the business process required to support the solution
  • Liaison with clients - agreeing business process aspects of new installations and the upgrade of existing products with new and existing customers
  • Advising customers on industry best practice regarding solution deployment
  • Feedback of issues at customer sites to appropriate company staff and to monitor resolution where appropriate
  • Ensuring that services delivered are to a high standard and signed-off as completed to enable invoicing in accordance with agreed procedures
  • Producing full functional specifications for customizations and configuration changes and complying with client and / or Infor documentation requirements.
  • Participating in implementing all actions required to deploy an application; assist in ensuring that the application meets both technical and business needs
  • Collaborating with Product Development proposing enhancements and introduction of new technologies
  • Working self-sufficiently and collaboratively to ensure team goals are achieved
  • To recommend changes to procedures and processes
  • Serves as advisory-level pre-sales support and post-sales operational support specialist when needed
  • Maintain product, industry knowledge and skills
  • Experience in with the use and implementation of a best of breed WMS such as Infor WMS/SCE/WM9, Blue Yonder, Manhattan Associates, SAP or Oracle would be an advantage.

Key Requirements/Experience

The ideal candidate will be flexible to travel and adaptable to consulting work in the EMEA region as required, occasionally international travel may be required.  The candidate must be willing to working with people from different ethnicity, cultural background and positions in the company.

  • Bachelor's Degree with at least one course or demonstrated experience in Information technology
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in Warehousing or Supply chain logistics.
  • French and English languages – written and verbal (essential)
  • Reliability and deadline-driven approach
  • Ability to present to all levels and lead a customer workshop, extracting the required information.
  • Ability to forge a strong relationship with the customer, and become trusted advisor
  • Strong organizational skills & time management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication that effectively articulates complex ideas.
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team but also self-motivated.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytic skills. 
  • Willingness to travel.
