Infor is seeking a Sr. Manager to lead a team of project managers and drive successful execution of critical, complex, and transformational business initiatives. This role will lead a team of project managers and solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Provides oversight to multiple projects and ensures project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and benefits are adequately managed and delivered. Sr. Manager will create an encouraging atmosphere for their teams to thrive in achieving strategic goals. This role will provide leadership in the areas of implementation of project management best practices, mentoring and coaching of individual contributors. Sr. Manager analyzes the skills of their teams, identify gaps and then build a plan to develop the team’s capabilities.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
- Consistently delivering strategic business value through project execution and developing talent.
- Performing supervisory duties and jumping in to managing of projects when needed.
- Using project management expertise to leverage best practices to deliver value aligned with Infor’s transformational goals. Implement and expand PMO framework.
- Assigning the appropriate resources to a project based on experience, skills, and availability. Building project management availability plans through capacity planning.
- Taking on difficult program/project and turn it around quickly.
- Communicating highly relevant information to both executive leaders and individual contributors in an effective manner.
- Keeping track of project progress, manages expectations, and provides regular project status updates to stakeholder groups.
- Establishing and monitoring performance metrics and goals for assigned programs, including process measures, outcome measures and financial measures.
Required skills:
- Multiple years Project Management experience and experience in leading teams of IT project managers.
- Enthusiasm to take initiative and provide leadership in solving problems, improving processes, providing a better IT experience for our customers.
- Experience in building, growing and leading teams of IT project managers, while ensuring strategic objectives of the projects are being met and employee satisfaction remains high.
- Experience in dealing effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and ability to move seamlessly between big picture thinking and execution.
- Hands on experience in managing multiple large, high-profile projects concurrently.
- A firm understanding and executing on the large-scale thinking and the approach needed for success of a project; able to plan, prioritize and deliver within constrained timelines.
- Drive change management, overall project control and team participation.
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects.
- Previous implementation and/or migration experience with SaaS applications.
- Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and work effectively across all levels of the organization and a team with a variety of subject matter expertise.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business Administration/Management or a technical field
- Strong project manager experience in a large technology company with experience in building and leading high-performance teams.
- Experience leading on transformational IT projects.
- Experience with Jira, Microsoft Project and capacity planning tools.
- Experience working with international teams
- PMP Certified is a plus, but not required
- Experience in agile methodologies.
