This position is for a Senior Software Engineer to create and drive the entire TAM performance testing program. This will involve learning the GHR application, understanding its performance characteristics, understanding the LPL code use to develop it, understand how Landmark executes the LPL code at runtime, and understanding how various changes to LPL can impact performance. This engineer will take this knowledge and craft a performance testing program for GHR, to include both regular performance regression as well as specific benchmarking projects driven by clients and prospects.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least a 4 year degree in software development or equivalent work experience
  • Several years experience in any OOP
  • Several years of experience as a performance engineer or a similar role
  • Very strong understanding of performance engineering tools and techniques
  • Very strong understanding of databases, SQL, and SQL optimization/scaling techniques
  • Ability to write scripting in Perl, Python, and/or bash
  • Solid understanding of the full stack of a cloud application, from the front end all the way down to the machines
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong teamwork ethos

What Will Put You Ahead?
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LoadRunner experience a major plus
  • Landmark experience a major plus
  • SumoLogic or Splunk experience is a plus

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
  • Execution of benchmarking projects, which are aimed at documenting the performance of a particular configuration of the application for a specific client/prospect
  • Development consulting with LPL developers to test the performance of their code and specify improvements to the code
  • Development and maintenance of performance test environments to support benchmarking and regression testing operations
  • Development and maintenance of the performance tests themselves
  • Development and maintenance of a production performance metrics pipeline, including consulting with product owners on how to analyze it
  • Development and integration of tooling to automate as much of performance testing as possible
  • Assisting development and ops with triaging and overcoming production performance issues
  • Assisting QA in interpreting regression test results and recommending follow-on actions
  • Assisting other performance engineers with their efforts as needed
  • Interaction with performance team stakeholders
  • Providing technical leadership and assisting other performance engineers with their work
