We are looking to insert offshore resources into the development team, with a plan to replace onshore resources to manage costs.   The offshore resources will need time to be trained on the product before the exchange to offshore occurs. We are focused on looking at India based personnel.   This approach is supported by finance and executive management.

Performs product design, programming, bug verification, release testing, and beta support which may require research and analysis. Has capability to make breakthroughs in thought, theory or practice that has the impact of delivering innovation that creates competitive advantage. Identifies problems, analyze complex issues and significantly improve, change or adapt existing methods and techniques. Possess high level of technical knowledge and is able to operate independently across multiple environments and platforms. 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs complex product development, systems analysis and programming activities which may require some research and analysis:
  • translating concepts among various implementation technologies.
  • analyzing business requirements and generating technical designs to meet these requirements.
  • contributes to designing feature implementations and evolve them through multiple development cycles.
  • contributes to evaluating competing technologies to use in a solution implementation and presenting the findings of pros and cons to teams with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
  • Providing client facing support for issues reported when needed
  • Deliver solutions for problems where there may be no one else to call
  • Depending on the issue severity and client location, may occur during non-business hours.
  • Participates in product design meetings.
  • Estimates the effort required & assists in planning activities. Performs complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products:
  • Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems.
  • Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
  • Provide assistance with testing and problem resolution as may be required & ensures that unit-testing scripts are written.
  • Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives.
  • Documentation of development work.
  • Work leadership may be provided by assigning work, providing product mentoring, project leadership and problem resolution
  • Teaching/sharing technology knowledge to develop junior team members.
  • Break down difficult concepts to relatively simple and teachable components
  • Standardize methodologies, coding practice, tool usage
  • Increase the team’s overall capability.
Provide training to other groups on the new or changed functionality. Researches and understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or similar in software engineering or computer science.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Java development experience, including:
  • complex system integration, multiple database: SQL Server 2019 Enterprise and higher is primary. Postgres Secondary. user interface technologies, component technology selection, last line of support debugging
  •

    • Tomcat
    • Subversion & Git
    • Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDEA
    • JEE containers
    • SQL
    • aspect oriented programming
  • Familiarity with the following:
    • REST
    • Vulnerability scanning tools like Veracode, OWASP ZAP
    • Jenkins
    • AWS or other cloud environments
    • Windows server administration
    • Jooq
    • GWT
  • Advanced technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.
  • Expert analytical and design skills at multi-product/multi-environment level. In-depth experience in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
  • Excellent understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
  • Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
  • Recognized reference and central point for technical issues across groups and products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the banking/finance industry, specifically in treasury management billing, a plus.
  • Prioritize and work well in an environment with changing priorities.
