Description & Requirements

Title: Systems Storage Engineer
Location: Oakland, California

Responsibilities
• Manage complex provisioning, advanced maintenance, data replication, disaster recovery, data migration and documentation.
• Manage the ongoing maintenance, utilization, availability, and security of the storage infrastructure based on business requirements and adhering to tight operations, security, and procedural models.
• Perform IT implementations, performance analysis and optimization, monitoring, problem resolution, upgrade planning and execution, and process creation and documentation.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of experience working storage, Windows, Linux environments.
• Extensive Windows & Linux experience with the ability to use OS enabled tools for data copy.
• Experience setting up NFS, SMB, snapshots, replication (SRM, recoverpoint), SnapMirror.
• Experience with mission-critical services and applications in an enterprise environment.
• Customer service oriented with strong interpersonal skills. Excellent time management skills
• Self-motivator able to take tasks or projects and run with them.
• Great oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well and collaborate with other teams of various skills.
Education Requirements:
• BS in Information Technology/Computer Science or combination of education and equivalent work experience.
Technical Requirements:
• Extensive experience with Pure Storage arrays
• Experience with NAS storage such as NetApp.
• Dell EMC PowerMax, PowerStore, recoverpoint and Unity/Isilon products.
• Design and maintain SAN switches according to industry best practices. Experience with FC switches such as Brocade, Cisco and/or Juniper and FC cable medium and connectivity types.
• Configure and present storage LUNs to various Windows, Linux hosts and configure MPIO and PowerPath at the host level.
• Experience with Cohesity and other backup and recovery technologies.
• Experience with LogicMonitor, SIEM tools like Splunk.
• Extensive troubleshooting experience to do root cause analysis and problem solving and resolution/mitigation, as per the vendor and other storage best practice recommendations.
• Experience in Scripting in Powershell, Unix shells, Python is a must.
• Experience with a configuration management tools and automation tools (Chef/Puppet/SaltStack).
• Experience with Dell, EMC, Pure management tools.
• Experience with basic networking concepts such as OSI, Vlans, routing & ACLs is preferred.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPCs, S3 etc) and automation using cloud formation templates are must.
