The learning designer designs and develops learning products that support the use and understanding of Infor software and initiatives for internal and external learners. Effective training is pivotal in enhancing customer satisfaction and retention by ensuring learners can successfully utilize Infor products. This role requires a high degree of independence, and application of instructional design (ID) principles to create engaging and effective learning assets while managing time and tasks to meet project deadlines consistently.
A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify and acquire necessary product content and knowledge through active listening and thorough review of source material.
- Understand, organize, and integrate this product information to design and develop effective and engaging learning assets
- Design comprehensive course structures and lesson flows incorporating instructional design principles to ensure clarity and engagement
- Independently write and develop course content using a variety of course authoring tools, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and LPD standards
- Manage individual projects effectively, ensuring timely completion within agreed timelines and expected levels of effort (LOE).
- Identify potential project roadblocks and collaborate with team members to find timely solutions, communicating effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations.
- Take the initiative to learn and develop additional skills as needed, including new tools and new design approaches.
- Take ownership of Professional Development by seeking out Infor U Campus, Koch U (My learning) webinars, websites, books, articles, and courses of interest to continue to elevate your professional growth.
- Share lessons learned and best practices with team members to foster a collaborative learning environment.
- Complete administrative work such as updating Jira stories, submitting courses to the LMS, and scheduling reviews.
Required skills:
· Proficiency in English (both spoken and written). Ability to pass a standard written English proficiency exam.
· Strong ability to synthesize complex information into accessible learning assets.
· Demonstrated proficiency with elearning authoring tools and ability to quickly learn and apply new tools skills to create deliverables.
· High organizational and prioritization skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and working independently.
· Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion.
· Flexibility to overlap work hours with US business hours to succeed in a virtual global team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field
· Demonstrated success using eLearning authoring tools
· Experience in developing training for software applications and corporate initiatives
· Familiarity with Jira and Agile/LLAMA principles
· Demonstrated ability to work independently, delivering content that meets predefined standards and adapting instructional delivery to various audiences
