Description & Requirements

The Healthcare Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of healthcare professional services projects, with accountability for delivery performance, resource planning, financial outcomes, and team leadership. This role includes managing direct reports, supporting services sales efforts, and aligning delivery execution with business objectives. The Healthcare Portfolio Manager works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success, contract compliance, and operational efficiency.

A Day in the Life Typically Includes:

  • Overseeing a portfolio of enterprise software implementation and upgrade projects for healthcare clients, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget, and within scope.
  • Managing portfolio-level financial performance, including tracking and forecasting revenue, cost, utilization, and margin. Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborating with Sales and Account Management teams to scope, estimate, price, and phase professional services engagements. Developing and reviewing statements of work (SOWs) and delivery models.
  • Participating in client governance meetings, delivery status reviews, and executive briefings to ensure alignment on project scope, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Supervising a team of project managers and delivery resources. Assigning project responsibilities, managing workload planning, conducting performance evaluations, and supporting career development.
  • Forecasting staffing needs based on sales pipeline and active project demand. Allocating resources based on skill sets, availability, and delivery risk.
  • Implementing and refining delivery processes to enhance execution quality, cost efficiency, and client satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience managing a portfolio of healthcare-related enterprise software implementation projects.
  • Experience with P&L responsibility or financial ownership for a professional services portfolio, including revenue, cost, and margin tracking.
  • Experience managing direct reports, including hiring, workload management, and performance oversight.
  • Experience supporting services sales by developing and negotiating statements of work (SOWs), pricing models, and delivery plans.
  • Experience tracking and reporting on project delivery metrics, such as utilization, milestone completion, and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience working with legal, finance, and operations teams during service contract planning and execution.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% and legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing consulting or professional services P&L in a healthcare or enterprise software environment.
  • Experience delivering projects across multiple regions or time zones.
  • Experience with on-premise, cloud-based, or hybrid implementation delivery models.
  • Experience with healthcare enterprise software platforms (e.g., ERP, EHR, or revenue cycle systems).
  • Experience implementing portfolio-level delivery governance, reporting frameworks, or project management methodologies.
