Description & Requirements

The QA Engineer is responsible for developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure software quality. The QA Engineer is an integral part of the Agile team, contributing to all stages of the development process.

Applicant must be willing to work across time zones with stakeholders located across the US and Canada, as well as Europe and India.

The QA Engineer role is dynamic and involves constant interaction with other team members. The focus is on collaboration, continuous improvement, and maintaining a feedback loop to deliver high-quality software efficiently.

A Typical Day in the Life:

  •  Engage in the daily stand-up meeting with the Agile team, including developers, product owners, and scrum masters, to discuss what was accomplished the day before, what will be done today, and any obstacles that need addressing.

  •  Work on developing automated test scripts and executing both automated and manual test cases. The focus is on ensuring that new features meet the defined acceptance criteria and do not introduce regressions.
  •  Collaborate closely with developers to discuss any issues or discrepancies found during testing. Provide immediate feedback to ensure quick iterations and adjustments.
  •  Document any defects or bugs discovered during testing. Participate in defect triage meetings to prioritize and address issues efficiently.
  •  Contribute to sprint review meetings by demonstrating tested features and discussing any challenges faced during the testing process. Participate in retrospectives to reflect on the team's performance and suggest improvements for future sprints.
  •  Stay engaged with the latest testing methodologies and tools. Propose and implement process improvements in the testing workflow to enhance the team's efficiency and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to refine user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases based on user stories.
  • Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospective meetings.
  • Continuously review and improve testing processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor debugging process results and conduct post-release/post-implementation testing.
  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

What You Will Need:
