Description & Requirements

Position Summary:
The Data Engineer (Revenue Management System application) will work on developing the next-generation RMS software and its components built around integrations with third-party vendors and internal applications. He will be part of the Hospitality suite of products that encompasses the full spectrum of hospitality systems (PMS, S&C, RMS and POS). He will make sure to deliver mission-critical revenue management solutions for our customers and most specifically integrations. He will be able to work on challenging tasks and own projects, always keeping user needs and practicality in mind.

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team and help us design, build, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Python, AWS services, and experience with ETL jobs, API creation. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data flow, processing, and accessibility for our applications and analytics platforms.

A Day in The Life Typically Includes:
Conduct software analysis, programming, testing and debugging which may require extensive research and analysis
Take part in software and architectural development activities
Provide support to end users
Create and maintain technical/workflow documentation
Work with different programming languages, services and architectures.
Participate in the development of the next generation cloud native RMS software built on modern multi-tenant architecture
Design and pilot prototype applications where required.
Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines to process large datasets from various sources.
Develop and manage APIs (including REST and GraphQL) to enable data access and integration across services.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and developers to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility.
Utilize AWS services (such as S3, Lambda, Redshift, RDS, Glue, etc.) to architect data solutions.
Monitor and optimize data pipelines for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across systems.
Write efficient and clean code in Python (+ C# and Java) to handle data transformation and processing.
Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering and cloud technologies.

Basic Qualifications:
• proven experience in development in the context of business applications, preferably Python + C#(.NET) or Java.
• Proven record with modern development methodologies, including agile, continuous build and unit testing processes with excellent process analysis skills with an eye for optimization and automation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong social skills and an effective collaborator mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge/Experience of public cloud service providers, Amazon Web Services (AWS) preferred/ Microsoft Azure, GCP.
• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AWS services.
• Experience with ETL processes, including data ingestion, transformation, and loading.
• Knowledge of API development (REST, GraphQL) and best practices.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery).
• Experience with streaming data technologies like Kafka or Kinesis.
• Interest in using AI services for data preparation, cleansing and anomaly detection.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Serverless/microservices architecture experience
Experience with technologies used for integrations (SOAP, Websocket, GraphQL, REST…)
Interest in Revenue Management/Business context/Data model of the RMS application and integrations
Strong teamwork spirit and willingness to support your colleagues
