A Lead Computer Technician plays a pivotal hands-on role in maintaining and optimizing an organization's IT infrastructure. This position involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware and software, ensuring systems run smoothly and securely. The Lead Computer Technician also schedules maintenance tasks, oversees help desk workflows, and acts as the primary technical resource for users across the organization. They collaborate closely with IT management to implement best practices and support strategic technology initiatives.
A Day in the Life Typically Includes:
- Provide consistent experiences on a range of hardware – fixed terminals, kiosks, tablets, and dual-mode terminals.
- Lead efforts to install, configure, and upgrade workstations, servers, and peripheral devices, as well as managing technical support operations and guiding junior technicians.
- Provide technical support to users.
- Go-to resource for all things computer-related within an organization.
- Onsite location at the Nashua facility.
Basic Qualifications:
- POS Systems experience.
- Experience leading a team of computer technicians.
- Experience trouble shooting and repairing PCB's to the component level.
- Experience installing, configuring, and testing POS equipment.
- Experience with Microsoft products including WIN10, SQL and Server.
- Lift and move electronic equipment routinely up to 20 to 30 lbs while standing for long periods of time.
- Experience in a relevant IT role.
- Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience leading or mentoring team members.
- CompTIA A+ Certification.
- Technical certificate or degree in job related field.
- Bachelor's degree or Technical Certificate in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
